Picnic Party.

Our engagement party was exactly what I love, an intimate gathering with two special families coming together. We decided to spoil ourselves after a few very busy months of catering and have the event catered by the fantastic Sydney Picnic Co. The food was absolutely delicious and the afternoon wasn’t one that required months of planning and hours of stressful decision making, it was a little celebration of the love that gets us through our daily wanderings.

It was a warm summers day. The grass was slightly singed from weeks of hot sun and very little rain. We spread out picnic blankets and I couldn’t resist adding pretty flowers into the mix, any excuse for fresh flowers. The picnics were in large wicker baskets, as any good picnic should be. We had a selection of oozy cheeses, scrumptious salads and decadent chocolate brownies to finish. Menus with pretty florals and hearts were a special little memento for the occasion.

Our engagement recipe is a choc chip cookie which we ate all too many of in New Zealand. I’m looking forward to our wedding anniversaries already and baking a batch of these to take us back to such a special moment when I scored a pretty beautiful ring and a future pretty beautiful husband.
